原住民工藝美學─台東原社手創生活館
自1996年台東糖廠停閉製糖事業後，其建築物除辦公室及少數倉庫正常使用外，其餘設施均閒置並缺乏維護，在文建會「產業文化資產再生計畫」輔助作業下，整修六棟砂糖倉庫後活化再利用，由台東縣原住民族全人發展關懷協會、杵音文化藝術團及南島社區大學發展協會承租使用，將廠區成為「文化創意產業園區」。白色大倉庫外觀的原社手創生活館，是由台東縣原住民族全人發展關懷協會所成立，集結在地26間工作坊，提供原住民手工藝品展示，已成為台東旅遊景點，提昇當地文化意涵的同時，也讓來台東旅遊的旅客看見令人驚喜的創意巧思。
走進台東原社手創生活館，映入眼簾的是大片竹編成林的裝置藝術，館內大致分設飾品區、生活精品區及琉璃燒體驗區，由原社手創生活館工作人員進行導覽及協助賞析，帶領旅客進入原住民的悠揚文化，發現部落創意的奔騰意象。台東原社手創生活館展示的手工藝品數量及項目相當多元，包括有皮雕製品、月桃編織、陶燒品、石頭彩繪、手工提包及寢具等，其中東台灣‧卡塔文化是館內自有工作坊，以琉璃珠為主的創作，透過設計，可延伸變化出手環、項鍊、戒指及手機吊飾等產品。台東原社手創生活館裡五彩繽紛的珠串，亮麗又搶眼，珠面的色彩及線條圖騰，各代表不同的祈福意涵。原社手創生活館結合時下流行與創意元素，打造令人耳目一新的手作風情，想看看充滿台東地方特色的原住民手工藝嗎？走一趟手創館吧！
