南橫八景第二景‧霧鹿峽谷
在走訪南橫公路第一景的「天龍吊橋」後，緊接著從天龍飯店旁186公里處一直到183公里沿線都是南橫八景之第二景「霧鹿峽谷」的範圍。南橫霧鹿峽谷有許多猶如鬼斧神工般傑作的斷崖峭壁、及溫泉長年洗禮下所產生的鐘乳石現象，此現象更讓這裡的山壁呈現五彩繽紛的顏色，形成一幅幅美麗的畫作，沿路約3公里的峽谷奇景更是令人嘆為觀止，不能錯過的台東旅遊第一美景。
「霧鹿峽谷」的形成是因為新武呂溪緊緊貼著南橫公路東段，以數萬年的時間與速度，往山裡侵蝕切割，漸漸的，就在霧鹿與利稻之間沖刷出一條氣勢磅礡的峽谷地形，又因為從霧鹿沿著山路至利稻是從海拔713公尺一路上升至海拔1068公尺，加上高峰連綿，讓這裡形成一個大S型的大斷崖峽谷，陡峭深幽，若開車循著公路而上，會發現處處皆有精采絕倫的特殊奇景。不過若想要進一步與南橫霧鹿峽谷接觸，建議您將車子停在天龍飯店的停車場，並採用步行的方式循著公路暢遊霧鹿峽谷，因為這樣不僅不會造成交通上的困擾，也能讓您輕鬆細緻的欣賞霧鹿峽谷的每一個角落，山壁上的溫泉噴口、數萬年形成的鐘乳石筍、台灣原生種的天龍二葉松、楓樹、山櫻花、梅花…等，每一個台東旅遊景點都會是個驚喜，另外您還可帶著雞蛋到中途的六口溫泉或至峽谷底的溫泉口煮溫泉蛋，既好吃又好玩喔！快計畫來一趟享受大自然壯觀的旅遊吧！
